Deposition Follow-up
Paste a transcript, get back draft tasks for every commitment, open document, and disputed fact.
The problem
Every deposition produces a list of follow-ups: documents to produce, witnesses to subpoena, factual disputes to research. The transcript captures it all, but a litigation paralegal spends 60-90 minutes per transcript extracting tasks. Half the time, items get missed because they're buried in 40 pages of cross.
The outcome
Paste the transcript (or attach the PDF). Claude reads it, extracts every commitment, every 'I'll check on that' moment, every disputed fact, and drafts tasks on the right case with due dates and assignments. You approve.
Connectors you'll need
The prompt
Paste this into Claude (with Cohesive360 installed in your Claude → Settings → Connectors). Replace bracketed placeholders with your specifics.
Here's a deposition transcript from yesterday's depo of [WITNESS] on case [CASE NUMBER]. Read it and:
1. Extract every commitment ('I'll produce X by Friday').
2. Identify every document referenced but not yet produced.
3. Flag any factual disputes worth verifying against the rest of the case file.
4. Draft tasks for each, due-dated by the witness's stated timeline, assigned to me by default.
5. Show me the draft list before anything posts. What Claude does
Step-by-step rundown of the work. Every write is drafted, not posted — you approve before anything lands in your systems.
- 1
Parse the transcript
Reads the full transcript. No length limit beyond the model's context window — most depositions fit comfortably.
- 2
Extract commitments + open items
Two passes: explicit commitments ('I'll get you that contract by next Wednesday') and documents referenced but not yet produced ('the email from June 15 — we'll need to circle back on that'). Plus factual disputes worth chasing.
- 3
Draft tasks on the case
One task per item, due-dated to the stated timeline. If no timeline stated, default to 14 days. Tasks are drafted, not posted — you approve.
- 4
Summarize for review
Single summary: extracted N commitments, M open documents, K factual disputes. Approve to post. Edit individual tasks before they go in.
